Roche Review near completion

The anxious wait for Roche Staff over the future of the company’s Clarecastle plant could be nearing an end.

A spokesperson the pharmaceutical giant has told Clare FM today that an ongoing review of its global operations is almost complete.

Roche undertook the review following the suspension of clinical trials of a new cholesterol drug- which was due to be manufactured at the County Clare plant.

There’s speculation the review could recommend the closure of the Clarecastle facility or another in the US however local representatives insist the rumours are completely without foundation.
