Clare householders who refuse to pay the property tax are being warned they won’t escape the charge.

From Monday , letters are being issued to thousands of homes across the county with estimates of what their property is worth and the tax they will be facing.
Those who don’t receive a letter or email need to contact Revenue as its warning failure to do so is tax evasion.
The Local Property Tax is being administered through the Revenue Commissioners Offices on the Kilrush Road in Ennis which will be dealing with queries on the charge from next week.
Principal Officer Anne Looney says they have a detailed list of all those eligible in the county – so it will have to be paid up.
