An Ennis-based retail lobby group is warning retailers to be extra vigilant when accepting card payments.
Card fraud, where a physical payment card isn’t needed, accounted for 16.3 million euro worth of fraud in the first half of 2016, compared to 21 million for the whole of 2015.

Gardaí and Ennis-based Retail Excellence Ireland have teamed up as part of a Europol initiative to crack down on this type of crime, which has led to six searches and one arrest this month.
