Clare’s ASTI representative has described Taoiseach Michael Martin’s comments about a potential pay deal as a ‘cheap jibe’.
Rather than a picket protest, unions will engage in rallies with eight demonstrations planned across the country from 12pm to 2pm, with unions considering rolling strikes if a deal is not reached.

Speaking earlier this week, Micheál Martin said ‘the room is there to get a deal done, if people want to have a deal’, while claiming any agreement must be fair to the taxpayer.
Former ASTI President and St. Joseph’s Kilkee Community College teacher Geraldine O’Brien says the Government have not put a credible offer forward.
