The cost of renting a home in Clare has risen by more than 20% in the last year.
A new Daft.ie report shows the monthly cost for tenants is continuing to climb.
Latest figures from the property website’s rental report shows the average market rent for a two-bedroom apartment nationwide is now €2,204 per month.
In Clare, market rents in the second quarter of 2026 were on average 22.2% higher than a year ago.
The typical open-market rent of a three-bedroom house in the county was €1872, up from €1,529 in the same period in 2025.
Rents have continued to increase throughout the years, with prices in Munster 75% above their pre-pandemic level, and 105% above their Celtic Tiger peak
According to the report, there were just under 2,400 homes available to rent nationwide on August 1st.
Of this figure, total of 252 homes were actively for rent in Munster, up 47% on last year, availability nonetheless remains 57% below the 2015-2019 average.
