There’s been a renewed call for “joined-up thinking” around Clare’s tourism strategy.
Lisdoonvarna Fine Gael Councillor Joe Garrihy has tabled a motion at the most recent meeting of the West Clare Municipal District, calling for pre-booking to be available for all attractions operated by Clare County Council, as well as shuttle services between attractions and local communities.
The local authority has responded, stating it’s committed to operating a pre-booking system for each attraction “in as much as possible”, and a shuttle service will be available for the Cliffs of Moher Experience for the 2025 season.
Councillor Garrihy insists it’s vital local businesses have certainty around the levels of footfall they can expect.
