A former mayor of Kilkee says there’s been a sense of relief in the town after Aaron Brady was handed the mandatory life sentence for murder.
The 29-year-old from Armagh shot Detective Adrian Donohoe from close range during an armed robbery outside a credit union in Co. Louth in 2013.

Detective Donohoe and his wife Caroline were married in Kilkee, where she is from.
Former Mayor, Claire Haugh says they were deeply affected by the tragedy.
