Those in Clare who need medical care over Christmas are being reminded that they can be seen in as little as 20 minutes at the injury unit at Ennis General Hospital.
It comes as the UL Hospitals Group is urging the public to avoid the emergency department for minor ailments, particularly at this busy time of year, as overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick persists.
The injury unit in Ennis is open 12 hours a day, seven days a week and most minor injuries can be treated there quickly.
