The Shannon Town Flood Defence Scheme will go to planning next year.
It follows an update provided by Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers in response to a query from Clare TD Cathal Crowe.

The project is expected to protect 1,400 properties in the town and its environs upon completion.
