The parents of seven children, with addresses in Clare, have been charged with alleged neglect.

The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have appeared before Ennis District Court charged with having in custody or care, children which they wilfully assaulted, ill-treated, neglected and abandoned on dates between March 2001 and July 2010.
The father also faces sexual assault charges against one of his daughters.
Judge Patrick Durcan remanded the two on bail to re-appear before the same court on September 12 next.
