Obesity Concern For Ireland’s Youngest

A new survey shows the vast majority of Irish five year-olds are in good health – but overweight and obesity are among some of the key areas of concern.

That’s one of the findings outlined in the ‘Growing Up in Ireland’ survey which will be officially launched by the Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald this morning.

Research also shows a quarter of parents whose five-year-old children availed of the free pre-school year say their child could not have attended if the scheme didn’t exist.
