The Irish Patients Association is calling on nurses to stop their ongoing industrial action at the emergency department at Dooradoyle.
Staff stagged another four hour stoppage outside the region’s main A&E today as part of a campaign to highlight what they describe as gross overcrowding in the department.

They are blaming the situation on the staff cutbacks, the recruitment embargo and the reconfigeration of services from Ennis and Nenagh to Limerick – without the programme being properly rolled out.
The I-P-A said it’s seriously concerned that the work-to-rule is impacting on patient safety – in particular the cancellation of certain procedures.
