A study of Ireland's rail network has revealed that a falling number of passengers used local services last year.

886 people were found to have travelled on the Galway-Athenry-Ennis-Limerick rail line on the one day of the Rail census 2013.
This is 125 less than the same study in 2012.
The number of passengers getting on and off trains at Ennis also fell.
