The new Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District insists employment opportunities must be created in the region to allow it to reach its full potential.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Shannon will wear the west of the county’s chain of office until next June after being elected this week.

He assumes the role just two years ago first securing a seat on Clare County Council at the 2024 Local Election.
The Kilmurry Ibrickane man says it’s up to all of the area’s elected representatives to lobby for inward investment.
