The new Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District is demanding action on large greenway projects in the region.
Clonlara Independent Councillor Michael Begley has taken the reins of the MD for the second time in three years, succeeding Cllr John Crowe.

The 43km Limerick to Scariff Greenway is currently at the preferred route stage, while it’s understood a design has not been formed for the Athlunkard to Ardnacrusha project.
Councillor Begley claims there’s been little to show for the money spent.
