A new housing development is in the pipeline for an East Clare town.
The plans would see a limited affordable and social housing boost.
The proposal submitted by Developer Aidan Clancy would see 11 new homes constructed on Hill Road, Killaloe.
The scheme consists of nine 3-bed and two 4-bed properties over a 980 acre site, which would also provide 25 parking spaces.
A Part V planning agreement has also been struck with the council meaning as many as two units will be used for social or affordable housing.
In a flood risk assessment submitted to the council, BDB Consulting says the proposed 11 unit residential project is classified as “Highly Vulnerable Development.”
It’s added however that Subject to detailed surface water drainage design incorporating appropriate Sustainable Drainage Systems , attenuation and management of exceedance flows, the proposed development is considered to have a low flood risk and to be appropriate at this location.
Clare County Council is accepting submissions until November 3rd and will reach a decision by November 24th.
