A man has appeared in court, charged with killing Eoghan Dudley, who fell under the wheels of a bus in Dublin city centre last Thursday evening.
29-year old Edward Connors with an address at Judge Darley’s Hostel is accused of manslaughter.
It’s believed 28 year old Eoghan Dudley was engaged in a row before being crushed by a Dublin Bus at the junction of Dawson Street and Nassau Street last Thursday.
This morning dressed in a navy tracksuit Edward Connors appeared in court charged with the killing.
Det Gda Conor O’Braonain gave evidence that the 29 year old was charged at around half nine on Saturday night and replied after caution ”I’m very sorry about him, it was an accident”.
A signing interpreter was sworn in for Edward Connors who is deaf.
His solicitor Cahir O’Higgins told the court his client relies on a methadone prescription and Judge David McHugh requested that the prison authorities provide whatever medical assistance may be needed.
There was no application for bail and the 29 year old has been remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Thursday.
