Long-awaited maintenance works at a popular Ennis lakeside amenity are set to take place next week.
Calls have been made for the environs of Ballyalla Lake to be more strictly maintained following reports of briar and bramble overgrowth on footpaths.
Ennis Municipal District has confirmed its Gardening Team will carry out scheduled maintenance in the area next week, while reported seasonal flooding on a section of the footpath will be investigated at a later date.

Ennis Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard insists that given the popularity of the amenity, regular upkeep is of paramount importance.
