Clare homeowners have been amongst the slowest to avail of a government scheme which aims to bolster the construction industry.
136 people here have spent just under €1.9 million on projects under the government's Home renovation scheme, which was announced in last year's budget.
The initiative sees 13.5% of the cost of qualified projects returned via a tax credit, and has helped fund projects valued at over €155 million.
However, the number of projects here is the seventh lowest of any county in Ireland, according to figures published in today's Irish independent.
