Legendary matchmaker Willie Daly says he’s “very surprised” to be honoured by the US government.
The man behind the world-famous Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival received the accolades from leading Irish-American matchmaker, Maureen Tara Nelson.

Ms Nelson is the president and founder of New York company, MTN Matchmaking.
Thousands have attended this month’s Matchmaking Festival, the first in Lisdoonvarna since 2019.
Willie says the awards are for the entire North Clare town.
