The head of one of the world’s largest airline groups has told Clare businesses that he believes a comprehensive deal will be struck to allow for continued air access to and from Britain in the aftermath of Brexit.
IAG CEO Willie Walsh made the comments during an address to Shannon Chamber members during the group’s President’s Lunch at Dromoland Castle.
His belief goes against that of Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary, who has previously warned that flights between the EU and the UK could be cancelled for months after Brexit, unless agreements are struck beforehand.
Willie Walsh has also told Clare FM that while Brexit will have negative impacts on Ireland, the future is not bleak:
