The Clare founder of a group representing thousands of children with special needs is calling for clarification from the Health Minister on the allocation of funding for additional medical cards.

Health Minister Simon Haris has agreed to extend automatic medical cards to all children where families are in receipt of domiciliary care allowance.
The Government originally planned to award the cards to around 10-thousand children after the budget but a Sinn Féin motion to speed up the process received cross-party support yesterday.
Founder of the DCA Warriors, Ruth Gilhool says it's a welcome move but she's concerned that other vulnerable groups could lose out as a result.
