GSOC to investigate discovery of body in Kerry

The Garda Ombudsman is investigating after a man's body was discovered beside a petrol station in Tralee in County Kerry. 

The man in his 40s was arrested for public order offences yesterday evening near his home in Killarney and brought to Killarney Garda Station.

Shortly after he arrived, he became ill and was taken by ambulance to Kerry General Hospital.

His body was discovered at around 7am this morning by a member of the public in a car wash next to a shop in the vicinity of the hospital.

GSOC investigators have been deployed to the scene and will examine the circumstances of the death.
