A General Election candidate believes many Clare people are objecting to wind turbines being erected near their homes due to a lack of education.
Ennis-based Renewable Energy Engineer Amanda Major has announced she’ll be running as an Independent in the upcoming General Election which will be her first attempt at securing a Dáil seat.
The former Green Party and Fianna Fáil member has previously been a non-party candidate in the Local Elections in 2019 and most recently in June of this year when she received just over 3% of first preference votes.
She believes if people here were more informed on the environment and the importance of renewable energy, they’d be less hostile to local developments.
