Clare Gardaí have seized another uninsured vehicle on the outskirts of Ennis through the use of new technology.
During a routine patrol yesterday afternoon, Gardaí attached to the Road’s Policing Unit pulled into the hard shoulder of the N85 and deployed their Automatic Number Plate Recognition System.

The unit soon detected a Mark 3 Ford Focus which triggered an alert for no insurance.
It emerged the vehicle’s policy expired in April and had not been renewed, the car was subsequently seized and the driver will face court.
