Gardaí in Clare are carrying out a number of searches this evening as part of their investigations into a spate of thefts from work vehicles.
Five locations are being checked – four in Ennis and a fifth in Gaurus, just outside the county town.

It follows a number of theft incidents from work vehicles and vans, where tools have been stolen.
A grey-coloured Jaguar X-Type car using false plates including 02-D and 08-D registrations is the focus of their searches.
Several stolen items have already been recovered.
