A Garda investigation is underway following the discharge of a firearm at a residential property in West Clare.
It was one of two separate incidents of a similar nature reported in the Kilrush and Sixmilebridge areas in the past week.
Emergency services were alerted around 1am last Wednesday morning, after a firearm was discharged into a house that was occupied at the time in Kilrush.
There are no reports of any injuries.
During the course of the investigation, Gardai have recovered a firearm.
Anyone with information or who noticed suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact Kilrush Garda Station on 065 908 0550.
In a separate incident around 3am on Saturday morning, a firearm was discharged on the Shannon Road in Sixmilebridge village.
Investigations are ongoing.
