The redevelopment of the former Mars Cinema and Dance Hall is moving one step closer to fruition.
Clare County Council has confirmed that a Part 8 planning application is being progressed for the development on Frances Street in Kilrush.
The proposal, which will now go to public consultation, would see the regeneration of the site as a multi-use facility serving the local community and supporting the ongoing revitalisation of Kilrush town centre.
It follows earlier feasibility work carried out on the site, which examined potential long-term uses and regeneration opportunities.
Kilrush Independent Councillor Ian Lynch says the project has been met with positivity and excitement in the local area and he’s encouraging the community to engage with the consultation process.
