A flight from Scotland to Spain diverted to Shannon Airport this morning after the crew declared a medical emergency.
Easyjet flight EZY-3103 was travelling from Glasgow to Malaga and was routing over County Kilkenny when the crew opted to divert to Shannon. There were 188 passengers and crew on board.
Authorities and ground service crews at Shannon Airport were advised of the unscheduled arrival while the National Ambulance Service was also alerted and requested to mobilise resources to the airport.
The flight landed safely at around 7.45am and was met at the terminal by airport staff and ambulance paramedics.
The passenger was assessed at the airport by paramedics before being removed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
The flight continued its journey to Malaga shortly after 9.00am.
