The Finance Minister says the Government will examine the ‘proper specification’ of the role of Shannon Group Chairperson following the resignation of Pádraig Ó Céidigh.
Just shy of six months on from his appointment in the position, Mr Ó Céidigh last night confirmed his decision to step down in writing to Transport Minister Eamon Ryan.
The former Senator has told Clare FM that it would be “more than a full-time job to do the role to the degree and detail required, given the circumstances, to get the airport to reach its potential”.
Addressing Clarecastle-based Fine Gael Deputy Joe Carey in the Dail this afternoon, Minister Paschal Donohoe says Mr Ó Céidigh’s resignation is ‘a pity’.
