The final Bank of Ireland Runway Run at Shannon Airport has been announced for June 22nd.
The event sees walkers and runners tackle a 5km route on Shannon’s runway, getting underway at midnight on that Friday.

This year’s runway run will be the fifth at Shannon Airport, and funds raised next month will be shared by it’s dedicated charities for this year, Clare Crusaders and Share A Dream.
Shannon Airport’s Operations Director Niall Maloney has hinted that a different event could be organised next year to replace the runway run, which itself has since been copied by other Irish Airports.
