A spate of shoplifting in Ennis has sparked fear that some businesses could lose up to 1,000 euro worth of goods a day, during the busy shopping period.
Retailers are preparing for the busiest season in their stores over the next few weeks with Christmas shopping getting underway.

But while it provides for a boost in trade, it’s also bringing issues with it, with late November and early December said to be the worst time for thefts from shops.
