A Doolin Coastguard volunteer involved in the rescue of a dog from the sea in North Clare says the family pet is in good form after his ordeal.

The dog’s owners alerted emergency services around half past four yesterday afternoon, after their pet fell from the cliff at Trá Lathan near Doolin Cliffs, which are as high as 75 feet in places.

Following a risk assessment, volunteers from the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard located the dog at Poulnagower and took it on board their boat back to Doolin Pier to be reunited with its owners.
