There’s been a marked decrease in the number of patients stuck on trollies at Ennis General in December.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 13 people had to wait for a bed at Clare’s County Hospital last month – compared to 56 in December 2010.

Overall figures for 2011 are also down on the year – but only by 30 and nurses say that nationwide 2011 set a new record for the number of people on trolleys – at 86-and-a-half-thousand.
