Clare’s County Fire service is commending the public for their cooperation, following a reduction in call-outs this Halloween.
Fire crews were alerted to only two bonfire incidents, both of which were in the Cloughleigh area of Ennis, compared to seven last year.

The cost associated with these incidents was around €2,000, and while the price of cleaning up the bonfire sites has not yet been determined, it’s expected to bring the overall bill to around €5,000.
Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Denis O’Connell says the reduction is down to a combination of wet weather conditions and the public’s willingness to heed safety warnings.
