The number of electric cars sold in Clare more than doubled in the first half of the year.
The latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 439 electric vehicles were sold in the county between January and June, up from 218 during the same period last year.

Overall, 1,817 passenger cars were sold in Clare, representing a 6% increase on the first half of 2025.
SIMI Director General Brian Cooke says there’s now a clear shift towards battery-electric and hybrid vehicles.
