The average price of a home in Clare increased marginally again in the last month on record.
The latest Residential Property Price index shows the majority of homes sold in this county in May went for more than €288,000.
According to the Central Statistics Office, 48 homes were purchased in Clare in the month of May, marking a 28% drop off on April’s activity.
Of the homes sold in this county, 33 went under the hammer in the Ennis Eircode Area, where the average price of the six new properties purchased there was €382,500.
While the average price of a second-hand home in the county town was €315,000, which was down 21% .
All 9 homes sold in the Kilrush area were existing properties and here the average selling price was €258,000, an increase of 36.5% in the space of a month.
There was also a significant drop in house prices in the Shannon region, where just six second-hand homes were sold, with the average cost coming in at just over €300,000, which was down 10% on the previous month.
