Ennis Economist Warns Giveaway Budget Will Lead to Significant Challenges In Coming Years

A Clare economist has warned that today’s giveaway budget will lead to significant challenges in the coming years.

Budget 2023 is the largest and most significant ever seen and comes on the back of windfall gains from corporate tax payments rolling in at an unseen rate over the past number of years.

This will cover the cost of a number of one-off measures contained in the multi-billion euro package, however Micheál Collins says it’s the permanent measures that could lead to the wheels coming off in time.
