The niece of fashion designer Ralph Lauren has been fined €2,000 for being drunk and abusive on board a plane diverted to Shannon on Monday.

41 year old Jenny Lauren of East 65th Street in New York pleaded guilty to 2 charges before Ennis District Court today apologising for threatening, insulting and pushing over a member of the cabin crew on the Delta Flight from Barcelona to JFK airport.
The court heard the total cost of the diversion amounted to 43 thousand dollars but Judge Patrick Durkan accepted Ms Laurens behaviour was due to a mixture of alcohol and medication for her Bipolar and anxiety disorders.
After the fine was handed down, Jenny Lauren left the court without comment.
