Ennis councillors want NRA to clean up roads into County town

Ennis Councillors have called on the National Roads Authority to clean up the approach roads to Ennis, after a prominent survey found they’re letting the rest of the area down when it comes to litter.

The Irish Business Against Litter group has ranked Ennis as the 16th cleanest of 53 urban areas nationwide, but said approach roads into Clare’s County Town were of concern.

The National Roads Authority is responsible for funding the cleaning of the roads, with the works carried out by local authorities, but Clare County Council’s allocation of funds has dropped in recent years.

Ennis Councillor Tommy Brennan wants to see the issue addressed.
