Ennis 2040 has agreed to review the controversial Abbey Street and Harvey’s Quay projects to determine if they’re “fit for purpose” and “add value” to the town.
A decision has been reached at a briefing of Ennis Municipal District councillors by the Ennis 2040 DAC Interim Chief Operating Officer to pause the two car park developments in order to allow other projects to progress.
As it stands, a multi-storey mixed use building is proposed for both sites, with plans for the Abbey Street Car Park including a raised river walkway.
Ennis 2040 DAC Interim COO Padraic McElwee has been telling Clare FM’s Seán Lyons announcements will be made in the coming weeks which will explain the decision to pause the projects.
