Employment and pensions dominate teacher conferences

The future employment prospects of teachers will dominate the annual conference of the Association of Secondary Teachers – which gets underway in Cork today.

The 500 delegates attending the event will be addressed by the new Education Minister Ruairi Quinn this evening.

The Irish National Teachers Organisation and the Teachers Union of Ireland are also holding their annual conferences this week.
