Fianna Fáil will have three names on the ballot paper in Clare for the upcoming general election.
Incumbent TD Cathal Crowe, Senator Timmy Dooley and Cllr Rita McInerney were all selected at the party’s election convention last night.
Deputy Crowe will be looking to retain his Dáil seat for a second term, while Senator Dooley who has three Dáil terms under his belt, will be looking to regain the seat he lost in 2020.
Doonbeg based Cllr McInerney also stood in 2020 and was eliminated on the seventh count.
Fianna Fáil has secured at least one seat in the Clare constituency in every general election since the foundation of the state, but has not returned more than one candidate to the Dáil since 2007.
