Communities across the East Clare region are said to be in line for a significant economic boost this week as a landmark festival gets underway.
The 38th Feakle International Festival of Traditional Irish Music commences on Wednesday night with a tribute concert to accordion extraordinaire and former Tulla Céilí Band member Charlie Harris.

Across the weekend, a number of workshops, concerts and launches will take place with such traditional music stalwarts as Martin Hayes, Caitlín Nic Gabhann, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh and the Kilfenora Céilí Band set to perform.
Organising committee member Aoife Hayes says local pubs, restaurants and shops always do well out of the proceedings.
