Grants to the tune of 37-and-a-half million euro have been approved for homeowners affected by defective concrete blocks in Clare.
Clare County Council has approved 105 Remedial Option Grants to date, with a further 167 applications being processed by the Housing Agency.

Another 93 applications are currently at draft stage, while a revised standard on deleterious materials has been published by the National Standards Authority of Ireland.
The local authority says the Defective Concrete Block Scheme must be reviewed following the publication of the revised standard, which could have implications for the scheme.
