The filmmaker behind a new documentary which has just been included in a prestigious funding scheme claims the natural charm of its County Clare protagonist has been central to its success.
Wicklow native Helen Sanfey has been selected as one of just five recipients of the 2026 Netflix Documentary Talent Fund, which she worked on alongside producer Catherine Donohoe.

The film, which will premiere at Sheffield DocFest in 2027, follows a young man learning the art of traditional matchmaking from his grandfather, the legendary Willie Daly.
Helen says she was touched by his idealism around love and finding the right person.
