There’s some good news for Shannon Airport today.
Delta Airlines has announced that its summer route from the MidWest to JKF New York will resume next May

The 174 seat Boeing 757 will depart Shannon daily at 9.35 with an return flight leaving New York at 20.10 to arrive at Clare’s International Airport the following morning.
Delta says the route will allow passengers to access connecting flights to other US destinations with the most popular connections last year to Miami, Orlando and Los Angeles.
