Ennis Residents Express Concern About Illegal Encampment

Residents of an Ennis housing estate are calling for a multi-agency approach to help address issues associated with an illegal encampment near their homes.

In the past fortnight, dozens of people have moved onto the site, which is on private lands close to the Castle Rock estate on the Tulla Road, with issues there now said to include widespread littering and a lack of adherence to covid 19 guidelines

Residents received widespread support from local councillors as the issue was highlighted at their meeting last evening, but the Council says its hands are largely tied because the encampment is not on public lands.
