An East Clare man in his twenties who tragically lost his life in a fatal road traffic collision in Galway over the weekend has been named locally.
Mikey Foley from Dangan, Tulla died after the quad bike he was travelling on collided with a tractor shortly after one o’clock on Sunday afternoon at Derrybrien, Gort just beyond the Clare and Galway border.
He’ll be laid to rest on Friday, following funeral mass in in SS. Peter & Paul’s Church, Tulla.
Mikey is survived by his parents Mike and Carmel, granny Biddy, brothers, sister, extended family and friends.
Gardaí are appealing to any road users who were travelling in the vicinity of Gort, Loughrea and Derrybrien between 12:15pm and 1:15pm on Sunday and particularly those with dash-cam footage to contact their local or any garda station.
