Clare’s Green Senator Hits Out At Lack Of Foresight After 58 Pupils Left Without School Bus In Inagh

Clare’s Green Senator is calling for transparency in the school transport system, after 58 students in Inagh have been left stranded without transport since last week.

38 families have been notified that the bus route from Inagh to Ennis is unavailable until further notice, as the contractor is no longer able to operate the service, due to driver shortages.

Speaking on behalf of Minister Norma Foley, Minister of State Peter Burke, told the Seanad that Bus Eireann is working on a replacement and hopes to have one secured shortly.

However, Inagh Senator Róisín Garvey wants to know whether the contractor or the Department is responsible.
